Known for Giotto’s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel and the great 13th-century Basilica of St. Anthony, Padua is an interesting meeting of art and culture. A city of limited size, pleasant to visit especially in its historic center where there are streets with arcades and elegant cafes frequented also by students of the University of Padua, founded in 1222.
