THE CONSTRUCTION.
The hotel, built in the mid-1950s, boasts a tradition of high-level hospitality. Frequented by a prestigious clientele, which includes names of Italian and foreign nobility, it is known and appreciated for its elegance and refinement.
THE CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
It was the year 1985 when Marcello Bernardi, a hotelier in the spa area for two decades already, took over the Hotel Continental from the Boaretto Family. However, the structure suffers, over the years, from a lack of renovation and modernization, so much so that, when the new owners enter, a complete makeover of the hotel and its large park is essential.
UPGRADES
Work begins immediately with the construction of a new swimming pool (the third), the remodeling of the rooms, the restaurant hall, and the spa treatment area. The work is long and demanding, and there is no shortage of complaints from guests, who upon arrival, find a construction site that is always open. But it is important not to stop and keep the commitments made. It is continued, in the early 1990s, with the construction of the first wing of suites (the current Classic) and later 35 more (the current Modern) are planned and built.
A NEW FACE.
At the end of this major work, which began in 1985, Continental Terme Hotel boasts as many as 68 suites, the largest number among hotels in the spa area. The facility took on a new face, and the clientele appreciated these new changes, forgetting the inconveniences of earlier times. In recent years, two more swimming pools, a gymnasium and the DamaDama beauty farm were built in the hotel grounds.
THALASSO SPA AND POOL NEPTUNE
The Thalasso Spa is inaugurated and the concept of the Neptune pool is entirely revised, carving out an indoor pool and an outdoor pool full of water and air pathways.

Mindful of the teachings received, the heirs of Marcello Bernardi continue, with great enthusiasm, the adventure begun in 1985.
